This documentary explores the cannabis culture
in the Netherlands. The viewer takes a tour of some of the many
coffee houses in Amsterdam, where one can purchase and enjoy marijuana
without fear of prosecution. This policy of tolerance by the Dutch
government has resulted in an atmosphere of relaxation and responsible
marijuana use, which is contrasted in the film with the paranoia
surrounding the war on drugs in the United States. The film explores
the medical uses of marijuana, visits a hemp farm, and takes a
look at some of the products of hemp production. The effects of
the decriminalization of cannabis are discussed by medical experts,
sociologists, psychologists, marijuana producers, and consumers.
The film is educational and informative. ~ Rose of Sharon Winter,
